In my opinion, there is nothing better than a cruise. It is just the best type of vacation. What could top amazing destinations, entertainment and food all wrapped up in one convenient package?? This past spring break, my grandparents took my sisters and I on a Royal Caribbean 7 Night Eastern Caribbean cruise and it was absolutely perfect. The ship was filled with activities and the shows were stellar, the food options were plentiful and delicious, and the ports of call were magical. Can't wait for the next one! We flew into Miami on Saturday, so we spent the day sight seeing and enjoying the warm weather. So fun getting to spend time with my sisters and grandparents. Definitely was not prepared for the insane humidity!! I am always the designated "food finder" on vacations and found the CUTEST Greek cafe in Miami! We walked about ten minutes from the beach into this kind of sketchy area and were guided down this tiny little alley to find the most charming, lively little block of restaurants. We split the family platter which had three types of meat, fries, pita bread and a few yummy sauces. Finally made it on the ship!! The Allure of The Seas was an absolute dream with four pools, a huge "Central Park" in the middle, an ice skating rink, 10 different restaurants and more. One of my favorite parts was finding my spot by the pool and spending the day reading, getting soft serve & fries and listening to the Jamaican band play. Can you even believe this is real water? Nassau, Bahamas was our first stop and was our favorite. We were blown away by the warm crystal clear & turquoise water. The locals were so kind and the whole island had the most relaxing vibe. Truly felt like heaven on earth. My favorite travel buddy. So special having an older sister who is also a built-in best friend. Also, I lost these glasses on this trip and I still get sad thinking about it. Clearly living my best life. This was a private resort that we had lunch at, and the owners were so sweet and let us hangout and use their property all afternoon. They had a pool, spa and dock that were completely empty. We had the best time floating all afternoon on what felt like our very own private beach. Pretty sure this was the most beautiful place I have ever been. I wish we could have stayed for much longer on that dock because it was seriously paradise. Formal Night! Part of why I love cruises so much is dressing up for fancy dinners. I love seeing everyone in their suits & dresses and it feels so special and memorable. Also, the food was soooo good. I think I gained 5 lbs from the desserts alone. Loved sitting and watching the ocean or reading or eating pizza or getting Insta content. #priorities. Our second port- Roatan, Honduras. I had never been to Honduras before but it was such a gorgeous little island!! Tip- when the locals try to sell you $20 tickets just to get onto the beach, ignore them!! They think they can scam you into renting chairs & umbrellas when you can just hangout on the beach for free! Sipping our drinks & enjoying the view! This was a nicer restaurant but we just bought some sodas and got to sit in the shade and go in and out of the water all afternoon. Our last port was Puerto Costa Maya, Mexico. This was another first for all of us and we were so impressed with this gorgeous island. Very friendly locals, amazing Mexican food and clean beaches. Negotiated our way down the beach until we found a massage spot that offered a 30 minute massage for $15. Might have been the highlight of my day lol. And finally, this embarrassing yet real peak at our dinner table each night. I feel slightly ashamed yet strangely proud when I look at all that food we managed to eat. But then again, it was lobster night so all rules go out the window. Such a fun, special, magical trip that I will never forget.

Living in Southern California is a beautiful thing. A beautiful, expensive thing. One of the best parts of living here is the gloriously warm weather year round. However, once summer rolls around and brings the 105° afternoons, the thrill of that brilliant weather is quickly lost. The feeling subsides even more as the sweat drips and the pores become clogged with sunscreen and makeup. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser This cleanser is a year round staple! I love how clean my face feels after using it, but it doesn't leave your skin feeling stripped of all moisture. I hate cleansers that don't foam, and this one foams very nicely. The salicylic acid keeps skin clear and fights against acne, which is common problem of mine. Overall such a great cleanser. La Roche-Posay Effaclar MAT Moisturizer Another solid La Roche-Posay product! I actually just bought this about a week ago but I am loving it so far. This moisturizer is made specifically for oily skin and dries completely matte. I have had trouble finding a product that will keep my combination skin hydrated without clogging my pores, and this lightweight lotion provides both of those needs. Although it's a bit pricier for a drugstore product, the high quality ingredients and advanced formula make it worth every cent. Because it is more lightweight, I use this in the morning only. CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion Apparently I have a thing for blue and white skincare products. But seriously, this lotion is such a staple. It is a more heavy duty moisturizer that actually keeps my pores clear. This unscented, no frills face lotion is perfect for oily skin (even though the bottle says normal to dry), and the hyaluronic acid packs a punch! I use this at night when I need a deeper hydration. Acure Brightening Facial Scrub Exfoliation is sooooo important for combination skin and is the secret to keeping your complexion bright and radiant. I love this Acure facial scrub because it is gentle enough to not cause micro-tears but sloughs off all of that nasty dead skin. I like to exfoliate 3-4 times a week because my skin is more on the oily side, but if your skin is dry I would recommend only using this 1-2 times a week. Be Berry Clear Illuminating Peel Mask
I love this mask. Not only does it have skin-brightening antioxidants such as raspberry and acai, it smells amazing and is super fun to peel off. And genuinely, my skin looks so much brighter and glowy after I use this. There's nothing better than fresh, radiant skin during the summer and this affordable mask is a great option. This week has been a doozy. Between getting back from vacation, volunteering at my church's vacation bible school and commuting to San Diego, I am more than ready for a relaxing weekend. Current plans include sleeping in, sipping an almond milk latte while finishing the latest Karen Kingsbury novel & a backyard movie night with friends. I hope everyone has a beautiful weekend!
A strong case for a classic lipstick I've been eyeing. The dreamiest Hawaiian villa that has me craving a trip to Maui. Somehow forgot about this simple yet delicious salad that I grew up on- omw to the grocery store to get the ingredients! My DREAM job. I usually wake up pretty early but am gonna try this method out... By, Becca |
